And the Winner of the FLW Everstart Series Southeast is …

If you’re an angler or fishing enthusiast that likes to keep up to date with the latest in bass fishing tournament wins and so forth, you may be surprised to learn who earned the 1st place position in this years FLW Everstart Series Southeast.

This series, sponsored by Mercury, was won last year by a 28 year old felah by the name of Brandon Medlock. Medlock is from Lake Placid, FL. Well, the 2012 Everstart Series Southeast winner is the same Medlock, expect now he’s a year older.

The tournament was held on Lake Okeechobee, also known as the Big O, in Florida. This lake has a surface area of 730 square miles, which is nearly half the size of Rhode Island. Yeah, that’s huge!!

Medlock took home the grand prize of $35,000, and all that from three days of expert fishing. He caught 15 bass totaling a weight of 68 pounds, 2 ounces.

Smith Mountain Lake Bass Fishing Winter Trail

Bass anglers participating in the Smith Mountain Lake Winter Trail are having such a good time. So good in fact, that they have potentially talked the director into extending the bass tournament into February.

For you anglers or bass enthusiasts unfamiliar with Smith Mountain Lake, it’s located in the mountains of Virgina. This lake is deemed the “Jewel of the Blue Ridge Mountains”, as it spans some 40 miles long and covers 20,600 acres. That’s a big lake to have some quality bass fishing.
